katatonic | here is eisenhower on the dangers he saw ahead as of 1961...48 years ago. http://avalon.law.yale.edu/20th_century/eisenhower001.asp |
AcousticGod | I like Ike (as I've said many times in this forum). |
katatonic | as a good democrat child i sang with my friends; whistle while you work nixon is a jerk eisenhower's losing power now he does no work!but i was a child. with hindsight i have more respect for him. which is why i don't "bash" people unless i can see the results of their actions...and why i don't fall in either side's camp. nixon, on the other hand... but it is amazing how farsighted eisenhower's parting speech was... |
AcousticGod | He was intimate with war, and a Libra.... |
katatonic | however i started this thread because i think it is time we all got beyond our party lines and realized, it is NOT the dems, or the republicans, behind any of the s--t going down today. it has been going on through EVERY administration for a long time. the threads on the food regulation bills - well there were other people in power when the genetic messing with food came in, these are just the latest in a long line of attempts to regulate your lives. the last administration were not angels in this respect either. and its not even just in this country. i have been hearing about the designs to ban all food supplements that are not passed/sponsored by government agencies for years now. the attempt to shut down the alternative health sector through regulations is ongoing. it occurs in every part of our society. from the no-smoking lobby and the war on drugs, to food and farm controls, and on and on. whether you think it is well-intended or sinister it is still up to us to speak up to our reps and not sit around moaning about whoever is in the hot seat right now. |
katatonic | as the man says "all the governments have let all the people down all of the time.." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u_g0k1W3GEI |
TINK | oh wonderful wonderful speech! Much more aware of the battlefield than he is usually given credit for. |
AcousticGod | Interesting talk. Especially enjoyed the talk of what goes into the children's minds. |
26taurus | Thanks. Glad i clicked on the second link. He's great. I've read quite a few of his works. It's been awhile.. |
katatonic | yes stuie is wilde and wonderful...there is a whole slew of his clips on youtube now that i never saw before! and AG though i know what you mean about the law of attraction THIS man explains it very well... |
